Fern Ridge Library is beginning our Summer Reading! Our theme this year is: Camp iRead "Read Beyond the Beaten Path"
Registration will begin on Tuesday, June 21st! As the Kickoff for SRP we will have goodie bags, free books, a fun project, and face painting from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM.
Kids @ the Library programs are geared at children grades Kindergarten to 5th Grade.
June Programs:
Wednesday, 6/22 - Camp Crafts - Elementary aged children are invited to join us as we create cool kaleidoscopes, funky fun jewelry, painting rocks, and more!
Wednesday, 6/29 - Summer Science - Calling all K-5th Jr. Scientists to join us as we put on our goggles and experiment with a solar oven, Alka-Seltzer bottle rockets, giant bubble wands, and more!
July Programs:
Wednesday, 7/6 - LEGO Club - Elementary aged kids are invited to get their build on and create cool vacation scenes for the summer LEGO Club meeting!
Wednesday, 7/13 - Read to a Dog - Practice your reading skills with awesome therapy dogs! No pressure, fun reading companions, and everyone who reads gets a prize!
Wednesday, 7/20 - Marvelous Magic - Calling all K-5th grade aspiring magicians to join us for a magical time and learn some super fabulous magic tricks!
Wednesday, 7/27 - End of SRP Pizza Party - Elementary aged kids are invited to join us as we mark the end of the Summer Reading Program with a tasty treat!

JuggleMania! Thursday, July 21st at 1:30PM in the Konnie Room
JuggleMania's "Hilarity and Dexterity” has appeared worldwide on Mediterranean cruise ships, at Asian street festivals, in museums across the Middle East and on theater stages from Trinidad to Egypt. Learn how a rural Oregon boy turned books into an all-expense paid trip around the world!
Christopher Leebrick Storytelling Tuesday, July 19th at 1:30 PM in the Konnie Room
Christopher Leebrick has shared stories across America at schools, libraries, theaters, concert halls, and campfires. In past years he has performed in the Ozark mountains of Arkansas, the St. Louis Storytelling Festival, the Australian National Storytelling Festival, at an ancient Roman theater in France, and in Israel. He has also performed in all 36 counties of Oregon.
All Ages Program: We will be hosting Storytime in the Park every week so come and join us at the Veneta City Park 25192 E Broadway Avenue (by the pool) for fun stories and songs!
Storytimes in the Park will be held on Tuesdays at 1:30 PM: June 28th July 5th July 12th July 26th
