If you don't find what you are looking for on the shelf please ask at the desk. If there is a book you want that we do not have, we can borrow it from another library. (see Interlibrary loans below).

Those under 18 must have guardian's permission to use Internet Computers. Computers in the Youth area only are filtered.

Meeting Rooms
Pre-registration is required and some fees may apply. The Konnie Room (capacity of 52) can be used after hours, the Conference Room (capacity 20) is available during library hours only.

Interlibrary Loans
Please call in or come into the library if you do not find the book you are looking for, please ask about interlibrary loans. There is a $3.00 fee for items borrowed outside the county and a $1.00 fee for items not picked up. The loan process is free for items from Lane County Libraries. You will need to allow some extra time for it to arrive.
Library Cards
Library Cards are free to residents of the Fern Ridge Library District, which includes the City of Veneta, and the communities of Elmira, Noti and Walton.

Out-of-District patrons may purchase a card for  $40.00 per family annually or $22.00 for 6 months. Out-of-District patrons who are 65 or over may purchase a family card for $30.00 per year or $16.00 for 6 months.

Please bring proof of your current physical address. Acceptable proof includes either:

     -A current driver's license with current physical address
      (PO box does not prove residency)
                   
                        OR
 
    -A picture ID AND one of the following:
               -a check book
               -a rental receipt/agreement
               -a utility bill mailed to a street address
               -a local student body card
               -a current property tax statement.

Service Area - Fern Ridge Library District

The Fern Ridge Public Library serves the patrons in the Fern Ridge Library District. The wording of the district is taken from the formation of the Fern Ridge Library District, Order 93-8-25-5 of the Lane County Board of Commissioners and the Action under ORS 198,199 and 357 of the boundary commission law. It was received August 26, 1993 and action was taken December 27, 1993.

The district includes approximately 181 square miles located west of Fern Ridge Reservoir, along Highway 126, Territorial Road, Scheffler Road, Warthen Road, Knight Road, Poodle Creek Road, Vaughn Road, Penn Road, Nelson Mountain Road and Siuslaw Road. The district includes the City of Veneta, and the communities of Elmira, Noti and Walton. There is an estimated population of 10,000 and an estimated 3,818 existing residential units. The uses within the library district are varied including city residential, commercial, industrial and rural residential, rural communities, agricultural and forest related swellings, parks and timber. The boundaries of the district are the same as the Lane County portion of the Fern Ridge School District #28.

Please keep in mind these boundaries are from 1993. If you have a discrepancy and feel you are in the District, please bring in your tax information and the library can verify your status using a county-wide database.
