Bike Beautiful Fern Ridge


This bike rack, with an art piece by Oregon artist Antonia Manda worked into the design, is an example of several that you'll soon see in our area thanks to Bike Beautiful Fern Ridge, a project developed by the Ford Institute Leadership Program: Fern Ridge Cohort 3.  Stop in the library to take a look.  Way cool!

Hawaii in 1949
The young man below is Ralph Kuehl, a Navy seaman stationed in Hawaii just after World War II.  A photo album that belonged to him was donated to the library a few years ago, and we've scanned the pictures to give you the chance to see what life was like serving on the islands in 1949 and 1950.  Click the photo to see the full set.
