• Substitute workers are employed by the library to fill in for regular staff on vacations, emergencies or illness.

The Fern Ridge Library District Board is the governing body of the district.  It consists of five elected or appointed Directors,  residents of the district, serving four year staggered terms.  The Board establishes policy, determines long-range plans for development and improvement of library service, hires the Library Director, prepares the annual budget and works for adequate financial support for the library, and generally spreads the word about the library.

• The mission of the Fern Ridge Public Library Foundation is to serve the community through advocacy and support of the Fern Ridge Library District.
• The Foundation provides tax-deductible opportunities to members of the community and produces various fund raising events for this endowment
• The Foundation meets quarterly and may be contacted through the library.

• Friends of the Library sponsor community programs for adults, assist with youth programs and publicize library activities and services.
• Funds are raised through annual membership dues and quarterly book sales. Membership is open to all. Forms are available at the library. The Friends meet quarterly.

The Weed and Read group meets once per month at the library. They are a group of gardeners dedicated to supporting the library. They have assisted in landscaping and design and also hold an annual plant sale in May. The proceeds from this sale are used to purchase landscaping materials and plants for the library.
