Library Director, Colin

Colin comes to the Fern Ridge Library from the world of book selling, most recently at the University of Oregon Bookstore.  He completed his MLIS from the iSchool at the University of Washington in early 2007, and is quite content to have made the transition from selling books to lending them.  When he's not reading, Colin enjoys jogging (slowly), swimming, and spending time outside, even in the rain.

Assistant Library Director, Laura
Laura loves the library!  She has many years' experience in public and school libraries with a variety of responsibilities ranging from cataloging to children's programs.  She is thankful to have become part of the Fern Ridge Library and enjoys the welcoming community. As Assistant Director, her job is to help out the Director and to be available to the public and staff whenever needed.  She is also the Tech Service Coordinator, responsible for computer and technology issues.  She processes new and donated materials, and is responsible for keeping library statistics.  She also has many other duties that help keep daily operations smooth. When not at the library, Laura creates aft, spends time with her family, and laughs out loud.

Business Manager, Fred
As the Business Manager Fred is responsible for the financial well being of the library.  He is involved with budget preparation, payroll, record keeping and administering the business affairs of the library district. He was very helpful during the formation of the library district and during the fund raising drive for the expansion of the library.Fred has also been known to step in during a pinch and help out at the circulation desk as a substitute. Fred enjoys chess and has been active in the Elks and Lions fraternal and service organizations.

Youth Services & Volunteer Coordinator, Heather
Heather has worked with children of all ages in summer camps and in pre-schools for almost a decade.  With a BA in Art Education from Cleveland State University, she headed west in 2008.  She loves doing anything that gets her outside, especially running and hiking with her dog Riley.  When inside, she creates original art, knits, and, of course, reads.

Library Assistant II, Marly
As a Library Assistant Marly processes OCLC interlibrary loans, processes media and repairs books as needed. She also takes the pictures for library history scrapbooks. She works the circulation desk and assists patrons where her fluency in Spanish and Portuguese is very helpful.  She enjoys photography, gardening, parrots, making and selling jewelry and teaching Belly Dancing in her spare time. Marly also takes care of the many beautiful plants found around inside the library. The violets flourish with the light that filters in through the windows and her tender loving care.

Library Assistant I, Barbara
As a Library Assistant Barbara runs the circulation desk with a cheerful smile, welcomes new patrons, assist patrons of all ages, sends overdue notices, shelves books and checks items in as they are returned. She also processes new magazines for circulation. She describes her job as the best job in the world. Barbara enjoys reading, gardening, beading, quilting and sewing in her spare time.

Library Clerk, Greg
He's a circulation desk library clerk of Fern Ridge Library and  Custodian. In his spare time Greg is a guitarist, writer, house painter and Chess player.
